About Rough Ideas
My name is Joelle.
This site is a small, growing, collection of some things I’ve done, things I’ve enjoyed doing. I’m not interested in blogging, because I don’t like the constraint of having to find something to say on a regular basis, and therefore, despite appearances, this is not a blog.
About myself-
I’d like to tell you I’m a great success, but I am not, if you measure it by the common yard stick of work and career. That very fact eventually rebounded, and my life got propulsed into the hugely interesting realm - interesting to me, that is, and adventurous the way I needed it to be.
Brief story - I’ve brought up kids, and I’ve been to college. I studied art and design, and multimedia art, many moons ago, though I don’t let that lead me too much nowadays! I’ve also had myself and my life as an object of quite assiduous study. I’ve lived in family, lived alone, and for now I live in different parts of the world with different people.
I do a little photography or creative things that keep my mind occupied. Mostly I explore anything within my reach that appeals to me, just living my life. I fund it all by taking temp work.
Some of the more interesting adventures are here, I thought it would be fun to share it.
About this site-
Rough Ideas has been in existence since 2001, but I never did much with it. I deleted it many times, left it fallow for many months. This is really the first time I feel it’s coming off the ground, Summer 2008.
I’ve always worked with my friends Simon and Martin, when it comes to web stuff, and we share skills and ideas. Thanks guys!
This particular version (3.0!) of Rough Ideas is written using Wordpress, as you probably noticed, because of the flexibility and ease of update it offers - specially when I’m working from Internet cafés, and my laptop is at home.
So thank you too to the Wordpress community and plugin writers.
About commenting-
Please do. Not all things are open to comments (but you can contact me anyway). All comments are moderated before being published. This can mean quite some delay, if I’m in a part of the world with little Internet access.
